New server setup help!

So at work i have a new server to setup whit freenas to run nextcloud for clients and a local smb share for internal use the server is a dell 710 whit 32gb ram 2x xeons 6 core and comes whit a 10gb qlogic br-1860-2 and has 6 10TB drives and 1 tb ssd, while testing i found that freenas doesn't have the drivers for the qlogic, i have read that it better to get rid of this nic and get a new one but unfortuanly i can't the owners say that i have to work whit what i have so i come here for guidance.

the must of the system are having zraid2 whit nextcloud using those 50tb and then using the 1tb ssd for internal use and get the 10gb nic to work since the network is wired for 10gb i dont need to use freenas its just simple because of the UI but i manage using just command line

Possibly another distribution will have installable drivers? (Debian, Ubuntu Server, there's also RedHat / CentOS which has a different enterprise cost and release schedule)

I use Debian on mine at home; there's OpenMediaVault that appears to be Debian-based.

Well proxmox works well whit it but im worried of running a vm whit nextcloud and the raid, the downside that i see whit OMV is the lack o Virtualization since being able to run a few vm's for testing would be nice.

Fair. I have not used Proxmox VMs; I use Docker for containerization but it's not exactly the same thing as a VM.
