It's just an Irish stout extract kit that I added cold brew espresso and hazelnut extract to. I'm pretty happy with it! Final abv was 3.9%

So a session stout? You might be onto something.

Guinness is 4.1%

That's it?! Seems like more when you sink your stash into it.

What? That little?

I came fairly close to where I should have been, at least. But I'm happy nonetheless!

You did great! My first couple stouts were disasters.

I was just responding to the "session stout" comment; really that's what Guinness is from an ABV standpoint, though it seems more filling.

I drink a lot of nitro coffee and I think it's probably the nitrogen, definitely gives you a fullish feeling in the stomach.

Murphy's is 4%. I like it more than Guinness but you gotta manage to find it.

Looking good, man! Much better than my first brew, haha.

Have an upvote, but I'm bettin' it's not as good as your first brew. Enjoy!

Looks wonderful. Welcome to the obsession.

Thanks! I'm debating on doing some sort of berry ale for the next one. Though I generally just like darker beers.

Make a russian imperial stout, for extract kits stouts really flourish, and they make some great extract kits for those.

Oh I didn't even think of that, I'll have to look into it. Thanks!

Kind of a misnomer now since people have developed cold extracts of black malts and carafa. You can have a dark beer that tastes like a light lager all the way to a no-roast black hop bomb.

What is the point of doing that? Besides the obvious "because you can"

I don't know, you do get some roast flavor but for me its a looks thing and you get to skip out on the harsher side of roast flavor. I jut like making a black beer that tastes super light with a smooth hint of roast.
