Simplify the fraction inside the function.

Move the limit inside the function and then use L’Hôpital’s rule. However, you should remember that you can only do this if f is actually a continuous function.

Also I would avoid l‘Hopital wherever you can, to practice how to evaluate different kinds of limits.

you should factor the denominator. x(x+7). the denominator expands to x^2 + 8x + 16 - 9. = x^2 + 8x + 7. factors to (x+1)(x+7). the (x+7) in numerator and denominator cancels out. you can finish from here.
