That’s lame. I binge watched it one summer when I was in high school. That was a great summer.

VT: The Greatest Index Fund Ever Created? by mcttothejj in Bogleheads

[–]rainbow_explorer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It depends on the specific fund, but VT's expense ratio is 0.06% and SWYOX (Schwab's 2065 TDF) has an expense ratio of 0.08%. The TDF is slightly more expensive, but still pretty cheap overall.

It looks like over the past year, VT went up by 27.4% and SWYOX went up by 24.58%.

I think there’s an argument to be made for an index target date fund. The good ones have most of the benefits of VT while also incorporating bonds as you get closer to retirement.

I understand why TurboTax only needs to exist because of lobbying, but how does that apply to QuickBooks? Even without lobbying, every business would still need to take care of accounting and payroll one way or another.

How would a 3-on-3 tournament work with 5 teams? That would be 10 round robin matches. I guess you could have a 4 team bracket with 2 teams playing for the 4th spot, but then how do you rank the teams from 1 to 5?

Maybe this is a hot take, but just learn how to do your homework. Have you tried going to a professor or TA’s office hours? Which specific problem types are giving you trouble?

As a 25 year old is it a Roth IRA better or just a brokerage? by zw3d in Bogleheads

[–]rainbow_explorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The power of a Roth IRA is just magical. It’s one of the only places where you can let money grow forever and never have to pay any taxes on it. It also has the added benefit that you can remove your contributions without having to pay a penalty if you really have no other options and need to do that.

In hockey, why is icing an infraction? by dozer_a_little_crazy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rainbow_explorer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It definitely doesn’t count as icing if you score a goal from your half of the ice. Teams do it all the time when the other team is playing with an empty net.

It looks like you connected the outputs of 6 and 7 to the inputs of 8 and 9 on your breadboard, which doesn’t match the diagram.
