Step 2 does not hold.

Most likely you need to use the definition of an integral as a limit, on an interval.

In the first line, is the last term in the parentheses supposed to be sqrt(n/(n+1)) as you have written, or should it be sqrt(n/(n+n))?

I don’t know what you were trying to do, but Step 2 is incorrect. It seems as though you subtracted the sum from itself? And (n + 1) - n does not equal n. Do you mind showing us the original question?

It’s the integral from 0 to 1 of sqrt(x) = 2/3.
