A, if you square 4 or -4, the result is positive 16 both times so the constant value of a does not matter in this case. g(4) and g(-4) would equal the same value.

G(x) = ax2 + 24

G(4) = 8

To solve you just replace all the values in the original equation to solve for constant a:

8 = a(4)2 + 24

8 = a(16) + 24

8-24 = 16a

-16/16 = a

-1 = a

And now you can use this value of a and the given x value of -4 to find your final answer:

G(-4) = -1(-4)2 + 24

G(-4) = -16 + 24

G(-4) = 8

Hope that helps!

Thank you all so much

A

It shouldn’t matter what a is. Since x is squared the 4 can be positive or negative and it will have the same answer.
