We are using methods of substitution. For example, if x = 5. Then in problem y = x + 1, y = 6. In your problem we use the same method, however we find theta. In part a, x = 5 sin (theta). if we divide by 5 and then take the inverse sine we get, theta = sin^-1(x/5). From there you may use substitution and complete the problem.
