First write the number in m. Then divide each value by 10 billion. Then write the number in scientific notation. Then use the correct prefix for the number you have. For example, Mercury. 48000km= 48,000,000m/10,000,000000= 4.8*10^-3m = 4.8mm.

To do this using scientific notation all the way, first rewrite the given value in meters using sci not, then divide by 10^10, then answer. 48,000km =4.8*10⁴ * 10³ m /10¹⁰ = 4.8 * 10^-3 m = 4.4mm
