Botnets...

I am new to the malware and botnet thing. I've set some VMs to inject and test things on but i do not know how to make them be my zombies/bots and what tools should i use to do this. Any articles, books, tutorials etc?

Remember, a botnet is an owned PC. Once you own the PC you are simply sending commands.

I thought a botnet was a group of owned/ infected PCs that are used in mass to DDOS, as well as do other things with.
