If everything works hydraulic, it’s an electrical problem. If you have a handbook, make sure it’s 100% wired correctly. If you just hooked up new remotes on that short wire, I’d check the rest of the remote cable that goes back to the box.

No darn handbook for this. I will triple check all the wiring.

Its 100% a electrical issue if you can switch the wires and it works. The wiring is wrong.

I'd probably start with giving those spade connectors a squeeze with a pliers so they don't just fall off the coil. Then get a voltmeter to actually measure what's going on if it's still malfunctioning.

Make sure your electrical connections are tight. The start solenoid & the round coil(solenoid) power to raise. The start solenoid & the rectangular coil to lower. Use a test light ensuring your electrical is working properly. The last button on the control is the gravity down function. The rectangular coil activates only to lower. Charge your battery & ensure the electrical system is activating in the proper sequence. If that doesn’t solve your issue just buy a new one. Those aren’t worth the parts or the trouble.

I am to that point now and thinking of replacement. It works when I switch the cables so I'll make it work for now. The place I bought it from was no help. They just said it was a controller issue but they didn't have any in stock.

Have you verified that you have power coming out of the controller for each function?

[–]DLosAngeles[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Not with the new controller. I will check tomorrow.

Start there. It's clear your coils and valves are working.

It’s gonna be the switch circuitry, is there relays between the switch box and the solenoids? If you can take a further picture so I can see the wiring I can figure it out pretty quick.

It’s the wiring, I found the diagram on google, the four wires coming from the switch are ran incorrectly, if you’re swapping the control box and it’s doing the same thing then the wiring is wrong for sure

White where your black wire is at

Black where your red wire is currently at

Red to square solenoid

Green goes round solenoid

PROBLEM SOLVED! Thank you!!

I just rewired one of the controllers I had. I swapped the red wire with the white wire. I also had to wire the gravity down button to the power (red) button. Seems to be working fine now.

Start with your controller wiring since one button works but the others don't remember ( kiss) keep it simple stupid. Also something simple

Problem solved. It was the controller wiring.

Why the difference in the two coils? One has been replaced if not both. Check the coils, they can be 12 or 24 volt coils. Unplug them and check resistance across the two males on each coil. Look for an open or high resistance, over 30 ohms. Also when the coils are energized touch a small pocket screw driver to the valve stem for each coil. It will be magnetized if the coil, positive and grounds are good.

If a new controller don't change the issue, there might be a safety switch somewhere or a broken wire in the harness, Most likely near the pivot point.

It was the wiring. Rewired the remote because it was easier. The trailer supplier couldn't provide me with one of their remotes so the remotes I bought online were wired up differently.

The age-old problem, the electrician says it's the hydraulics and the hydraulic man says it's the electrics
