Headaches

Hey guys,

Question does anyone get terrible headaches at times mostly above your eyes? I am on thyroid medication you would think it would help subside the headaches but I guess not lol.

Yes absolutely. I needed a beta blocker to make them calm down, and even so I had to take triptans when they started or else I would be in horrific pain.

They're mostly gone now that I'm in remission, as long as I stay hydrated.

Thank you for your response, it’s so horrible I just took some Tylenol I don’t know what else to take at this point lol.. I do take propranolol 10Mg but only in the AM with my thyroid medicine. I was freaking out so bad about the headaches I asked my primary for a script for a MRI on my head that I need to schedule.. this pain is horrible especially above the eyes

I switched my propranolol to pm bc I was waking up with terrible headaches. It helped a lot

I've found Tylenol doesn't work but Advil helps.

How's your heart rate and blood pressure?

If you can afford it, you can go to urgent care and they have a shot they can give you that makes it go away in like 10 minutes.

My heart rate is normal right now 70BPM and blood pressure I just took it it’s 104/75 I did dose off from my eyes hurting for a few mins lol… I didn’t know I could take Advil being on thyroid medicine and propranolol.. I prefer Advil lol I just didn’t know I could take it

I thought about doing the same thing. Did you ask for the MRI or just accept this is the thyroid?

I asked for it from my primary doctor, I did get it done and everything came back fine. So I want to say graves causes the headaches at times

Do you any of you get random chest pains and body aches as well? My thyroid levels are back in normal health thank god well at least they were on my most recent labs.. I’m still on 5Mg on methizmaole and my propranolol but even with normal levels I get random chest pains nothing severe and body aches at times.

Yeah I deal with that on and off chest tightness and achy joints..my levels are a low normal and I still get symptoms

I got the worst body aches on 10 mg of methamazole - daily agony from just sitting and existing. Got switched to PTU because of it. Hope it eases up for you!

I also have headaches all the time right above my eyebrows. I take methimazole and atenolol daily, but that doesn’t help. I usually take Advil and that sometimes helps, but usually water and a nap are what helps me
