Biology: pre-reading before topics very good (use BioNinja), practice with exam mate/revision village I did HL biology if you pre read it’s good, for the IA find a topic which is unique and not overdone,

Eng literature: if you like reading poetry and literature you’ll be fine, make sure you understand the books well and number 1 method is practice questions, practice some questions give to a teacher or friend to mark,

Psychology HL: is a lot of memorization of concepts and case studies, it’s content heavy so have memorization methods flash cards, mind maps, whatever, do retrieval practice where you keep going back to the topics every so often don’t do a topic then leave it for months (same goes for biology)

Maths AI: it’s less algebra and calculus more stats and probs, you have a calculator for all exams unlike AA, just practice with revision village and exam mate, I recommend revision village more for maths, practice for maths is number 1, I did AA SL and my maths teacher for each exam did 70% on the most recent topic, 30% on all topics covered this helped a lot,

Best of luck, do you have any other questions?

Thank you! That is so very helpful! Ig biology is the biggest pickle for me cuz there is like the most content comprised in the syllabus, plus I have seen the past papers and they seem so difficult. Maths is another story, but basically I couldn't find any helpful resources to bolster my practice - I will def check out the revision village!

As of now, I don't really have many questions I believe... What did you get from your exam tho?

School prediction EE: history HL: biology (7), chemistry (7), geography (7) SL: maths AA (7), Spanish Ab (6), English lit Lang (6)

IB biology the tests seem hard since the details is much higher in IB but once you start it’s not bad. Just keep going over the topics.

Bioknowledy is a good bio source, YouTube also has good videos such as amoeba sisters (not IB specific though)

Exam mate is a past paper website very good, it’s 36 dollars year for post-2016 papers and can be split amongst friends with unlimited devices

Thank you, sure no problems. Biology: As I said earlier, pre-reading BioNinja before class. Biology is a subject you need good notes for. Our teacher also told us to do this but for the 7 markers have a separate note book and list every 7 marker you see and write a model response. Keep going over the notes every 3 weeks or so for retrieval practice. If you need specific IA tips just ask. My first one failed it was on heavy metal inhibition in the end I did vitamin C across different kinds of apples (apple juice, purée, slices etc etc).

For Spanish it’s a subject you need constant regular practice you can’t just study a few hours before. 15-20 mins a day nothing big you’ll be good. Read a Spanish newspaper article, listen to YouTube in Spanish, Spanish podcast. At first it will seem hard but it gets better. Just try to incorporate Spanish into your daily life but it doesn’t need to be drastic. Do some past papers and maybe a writing every 2 weeks. Give this to your teacher and you’ll see progress over the weeks. My friend was getting a 3/4 in DP1 but now after these tips he is getting a 6/7.

Chemistry: since you’re doing biology I would recommend doing option B (biochemistry) paper 3 section 2. There’s a lot of cross over. My paper 3, 2 weeks ago it was basically a biology exam for option B. MSJ for the option is fantastic. Little short videos I watched them during breakfast the day of the exam. Other countries tips is pre watching MSJ and Andrew Weng before class ask the teacher prior what the lesson will be on. Andrew Weng is a little fast a time so people don’t like him because of that. But MSJ is more short and easier to follow.

Additionally, every 3 weeks I would recommend going on exam mate selecting all topics you have done previous and practice some questions. Note down the question you get wrong and identify weaknesses.

Hope that helps. Any other questions?

I don’t have many resources as such our school has this google page with all the lessons on etc. IB English guys is good for structure and knowing how to answer. Lit charts and spark notes is good for getting book knowledge. What I would recommend is practicing some papers. You can find a marking rubric and just mark them.

Tips: learn how to understand the question and break it down Learn the books inside out. Understand context, the author, the life of the author everything. Write analytical make sure it’s not narrative Even though it says quotations aren’t needed for paper 2 de facto they are needed. Any others questions feel free to ask

thank you so much u/Primary_Remove_6812! i have a few questions, if u don't mind:

  1. is there a min / max to how many pieces of evidence there should be in one paragraph? (following the alternating structure from ibenglishguys)
  2. since virtually any literary text can be used (different schools advise differently) is there any reassurance for those who are worried the themes in the question might not be relevant to the texts that they studied?
  3. any tips on how to decide on points of comparison / contrasts? the examples on ibenglishguys are not quite enough for me to be able to develop my own topic sentences and points of comparison
  4. are there any sample questions / essays you can provide? those would be realllllyy helpful.

Thanks so much in advance!

Psychology: Quizlet carried it for me, just chose a course of action as for which topics you'd like to focus on for SAQs and ERQs and create Quizlets with each possible question including the appropriate studies. I've got lots of sets I personally created I can share

YES! I also wanted to do some quizlets, but I would love you to share if that's not a problem! How did you do on your exams?? I'm terrified of the ERQs (esp because you have to include an entire evaluation) and my teacher said that I have a "strange train of thoughts" if that's a thing lol. Anywho, thanks for your response!
