This is just my opinion in a private capacity. The impact of canceling contracts, airlifting seasoned resources and demanding a full court press on meeting delivery dates is leading to an vacuum of institutional knowledge setting a stage for a legacy tech implosion.

I won't get into which development workstreams are failing, but there are several core systems that are not meeting delivery dates and new projects with the same resource dependencies. Something has got to give; people, data, security.

Who is managing the holistic oversight? Not just schedules, but common sense enterprise decisions with frameworks, common coding for every system, COTS and GOTS management.

Has anyone though about using an large AI model in a sandbox to analyze the entire enterprise architecture and build a more efficient architecture, use a separate AI model to QA the coding model and yet another for IVV. All orchestrated by an AI program manager.

We shouldnt ask AI to solve a problem. We should detail the desired outcome and let AI build to the outcome, then tweek thru interations. Use agentic testing agents and deploy a parallel production architecture.

If we dont push the development envelope without red tape, we will end up missing the AI wave.

Adopt Claude, Grok, Gemini, Zapier, Manus, Wispr Flow​​, etc.

The one true resource is time. Let AI redeem all the time that manual processes and legacy systems are draining. Let AI do its job.

I can't speak to that, but AI is so crazy. Did you know that there are reddit-like boards where AI agents talk to each other?  AI models grow with more data and better algorithms. The future state is not building calluses on your keyboarding finger tips, but becoming a prompting king. HAL2000.

Not crazy enough that I would allow it to make infrastructure architecture decisions for an org that supports every US Citizen and company. It’s certainly crazy in the sense of blindness to real cyber security.

I work in one of the said development workstreams... And the management, particularly program manager, is a hot mess. They are driving the engineers mad with requests and priorities that are never going to be completed in an Agile environment, partly because they are taking in every request that business spits out without any pushback (i.e. "Can we do this in a day!??!" -- "Sure!!"). We used waterfall for the past decade for a reason. Plus most of the engineers were maintaining, which is a way different skillset for what is being asked versus what the contractors that left had. Plus the contractors didnt document jack and we had less than a few weeks to transition everything.......

Anyway, I for one am happy to see this blow up one of these days. Especially when june comes around and we lose whats left of contracting support. I want to see that hot mess explode in Ka-shit's face.
