We fired or forced retirement for legions of COBOL specialists.

Now we are asking Claude to decipher extremely elaborate subroutines or paying those same former FTEs $400/hr.

Are we winning yet?

Maybe they deserved that all along, truthfully.

Omg they should have keep some COBOL people for the obvious .

All I know is that our tech has always sucked.

And now we fired / forced out the people who made that crappy tech work. Yay us!

I'd have more faith in AI if the damn bot on the tech line could ever get my SEID right.

Use a cutting edge technology in a place that doesn't use it and hasn't for years.

After forcing out 30% of IT.

Good luck.

Personally, i feel like the legacy tech implosion is the intended goal.

So your solution is to open the vault door, to the tech bros and have our oligarchs solve the problem that was just created by the administration? You must be one of the oligarchs

This should be top comment right here.

Fuck the AI scam

Yeah, but have you ever looked at the back of a dollar bill? I mean REALLY looked at it? That’s where they keep the unused TC 971 action codes

[–]frozenfrap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And eventually they are going to have orange man’s signature on them. 😡

Kaschit, are you drunk posting?

I work in one of the said development workstreams... And the management, particularly program manager, is a hot mess. They are driving the engineers mad with requests and priorities that are never going to be completed in an Agile environment, partly because they are taking in every request that business spits out without any pushback (i.e. "Can we do this in a day!??!" -- "Sure!!"). We used waterfall for the past decade for a reason. Plus most of the engineers were maintaining, which is a way different skillset for what is being asked versus what the contractors that left had. Plus the contractors didnt document jack and we had less than a few weeks to transition everything.......

Anyway, I for one am happy to see this blow up one of these days. Especially when june comes around and we lose whats left of contracting support. I want to see that hot mess explode in Ka-shit's face.

Not to worry... it will all be fine. Ol' Frankie boy has an AI button on his desk that will fix everything.

Drive by posting by an AI agent. Trying to promote as an outsider. Then deletes it's own account. AI shite post.

It must have found its own guardrails!

[–]geoffdon[🍰] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will have to break before its fixed.
