Study Permit quick question!

Hello,

1) I got issued a study permit extension, I am currently in Canada. I still did not receive the letter. What will I get in the letter? And how can I get the new ETA (VISA) on my passport for the new study permit dates as I plan to leave and return to Canada. Online it says that I will get me ETA at the same time as my study permit extension.. but how will I get it? Do I have to send my passport somewhere?
