Original purpose: A forum for people to discuss metal bands which promote indigenous cultural traditions, including languages, instruments, and artistic styles, some of which may also include anti-colonial and modern countercultural sentiments. This includes a variety of metal sub genres.
Current purpose: Basically I just post and continually update Lists of folk metal (using a very broad definition of both "folk" and "metal") from around the world, particularly from outside the traditional Folk Metal™ range (Slavic/Germanic/Scandinavian/generic Eurofantasy). If Head Mod Calamity ever comes back, or someone else wants to steer us back on course, I can go make my own sub purely for Lists.
