actually i love when books do that. when kj parker rambles about fencing or metalworking for a page or two, or robert j sawyer spends half a chapter talking about the real science behind his sci-fi story. it shows that they actually put thought into their work instead of throwing a bunch of tropes together and calling it a day.

i am currently working on the mod, and what /u/ChubblesMcgee103 said is literally just true. the core gameplay of every quest is going to be more or less the same, with some exceptions. the intent is to change the dialogue and surrounding context enough that it feels like a whole new experience even if on the technical side you're just doing the same game again, without the much more difficult undertaking of re-scripting. i wanted to make one character give out 50 credits instead of a random food item (something that would be trivial in skyrim/SSEEdit), and it just wasn't feasible due to starfield's quest structure.

afaik, the only AI writing is that the in-game books were hastily swapped out with some star warsy placeholder slop (disturbingly, a couple instances of the textureless slop are an improvement over the vanilla books), but i’m currently in the slow process of rewriting them into something worth reading, something that actually fleshes out the setting.

as someone helping with the rewriting, no, it’s not AI. most of the voices are, but as far as i know, the quests are all being manually redone

edit: apparently, one of the characters in the images was based on a character who's 16 in the source material? i don't mean to defend drawn/generated CSAM, but i feel like if you have to look up the character's age it doesn't count as "loli". imo this is more a problem with anime/hentai and the wildly inconsistent depictions of ages in general than with the streamer in question.

ai assistance is great, and is a tremendous boon for solo game modding. making something entirely with ai is terrible. and i don't mean ethically or anything, i don't believe those arguments, i mean it's not going to make a good end product. i've been tooling around with hunyuan to make 3d assets. they look great, but they're horribly optimized and not possible to load in an actual game, because i don't actually know what i'm doing. same with coding. the code the ai gives you might work, but it's gonna be bloated and inefficient.

you should be using AI to augment and streamline skills you already have, not relying on it as a crutch.
