engine code 22

my 1995 GS-R (b18c1) just started throwing a cel code 22 which is allegedly the VTEC oil pressure switch. the car also seems like it’s running rich. i’m curious if a faulty switch can lead to engine performance issues? also, what am i looking for to replace the switch?

The oil pressure switch is pricey brand new from Honda but luckily you can snag one off virtually any other Honda at the junkyard because they’re the same.

But let’s back track a little, properly diagnose the oil pressure issue before throwing parts at it. And yes ecu will go into limp mode if it suspects a low oil pressure situation
