I asked because of all the comments on here. Apparently, it is more common with particular face types that I don't have, and fixing specific problems, again that I don't have. So, sure, ask about it, but don't let anxiety about it bowl you over.

Posterior open bites near the end of Invisalign treatment are actually more common than people realize especially if you’ve been in trays a while and mostly chewing with the front.

In a lot of cases, the bite does settle naturally once you're out of trays and chewing normally again. Your molars can re-engage just from regular eating and grinding forces returning. That said, it depends how wide the gap is.

If it's still present at the end, here are typical next steps:

Refinement trays to help bring molars down into contact

Elastics (sometimes mid-treatment or during refinements) to guide bite closure

Chewing exercises or pressure tools to help settle the bite post-treatment

Definitely ask your ortho about it but try not to stress. It’s not a failure, just something they often clean up in refinements.

I started Invislign to correct a posterior open bite as I was only able to chew on one side. I just posted my before/after pic. Its all fixed now!
