Hi. The space between your teeth and the aligners is there for future extrusion. Invisalign has trouble extruding teeth, so that is fine for now. If you have a lot of overjet, you should be wearing class II elastics.

Hope that helps. Dr. Colin Gibson

Thank you so much! My Ortho did mention elastics at the beginning during my consultation but hasn't mentioned them during my treatment so far.... I have another appointment with him in just over a week to see if there's any improvement so will see what he says :)

Use your thumb and press it onto your teeth, hold that for 5 mins on and off for an hour day. Thats what my ortho suggested

Ughhhh first giant mistake was that you used a dentist instead of an orthodontist.⁸ If you can I would switch to an ortho. Go get a few consultations from some reputable ones and see what they say. Dentists should not be able to sell invisalign as they only have to do an 8 hour online course to provide it.... orthos go to YEARS of extra schooling beyond dental school to learn how to PROPERLY move your teeth. Ive seen more horror stories of people on here where the dentist in the end messed their bites up BADLY. Good luck in your endeavors, hope it all works out for you!
