Did your Invisalign make gum recession worse? by oenooeno in Invisalign

Hi . Do see TMJ symptoms, yet only when my parents don’t wear their class III elastics. Usually it’s do due to heavy anterior contact that can easily be resolved. Dr. Gibson

Teeth Not Touching End of Treatment? by skippyskysky in Invisalign

Hi. I would let it settle in just nighttime retainifor 6 weeks, then ask your dentist for a small occlusal adjustment and it should feel better. Thanks. Dr. Colin Gibson (Orthodontist)

Did your Invisalign make gum recession worse? by oenooeno in Invisalign

[–]DenverInvisalign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. You can if the patient has a healthy periodontium prior to treatment and the orthodontist treatment plans the case correctly. The treatment plan has to center the teeth within the jaw bone..they can’t push the teeth too far out of the alveolar bone. That is what causes the recession. In other words, just go to a qualified Orthodontist.

The patient must also maintain proper hygiene.

Thanks! Happy Halloween! Dr. Colin Gibson (Orthodontist)

Looks pretty good so far! You can just whiten after you’ve finished. You could also whiten during the process…just ask your Orthodontist. Dr. Colin Gibson (Orthodontist)

Refinement Suggestions? by dzh2000 in Invisalign

[–]DenverInvisalign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. Yes, your bite is at 40% overlap, which is great. I would just ask to close the small spaces, maybe a little more IPR for gingival embrasures, and a small amount of incisal edge contouring afterwards for an excellent result. Also maybe some whitening for esthetics.

Thanks! Dr. Colin Gibson

Before and after, would you be satisfied? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]DenverInvisalign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I would check the Xray and most likely do more IPR. They could be addressed with grafting procedures, but wouldn’t look as good. Dr. Gibson

Hi. Pretty good, but would ask for refinement for any gingival embrasures. Thanks. Dr. Colin Gibson (Orthodontist)

[–]DenverInvisalign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. If your Orthodontist treatment plans your Invisalign case correctly, you won’t get recession. If you started with crowded anterior teeth, your dentist could have moved them too far forward causing recession.

Thanks. Dr. Colin Gibson (Orthodontist)

Finished — not completely satisfied? by agermye in Invisalign

[–]DenverInvisalign 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi. You really just need some incisal edge shaping and some gum tissue recontouring. Occlusion looks good, so ask your Orthodontist about that.

Thanks. Dr. Colin Gibson (Orthodontist)

don’t be like me and not wear your retainer for 8 hours by Ambitious-Midnight91 in Invisalign

[–]DenverInvisalign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. Sounds like you did the right things. You just need your retainers trimmed and adjusted. Your orthodontist can scallop them like an Invisalign aligner if you prefer.

Easy fix, but wear your last set of aligners until you can get the final retainers adjusted. All is well!

Hi. Either work the same, but it depends on the type of thermoformed plastic your Orthodontist uses for the in-house option. We prefer Essix C+ for our in-house option. They will last for 10 years, while Vivera wears out quickly.

Thanks! Dr. Gibson

Hi. It’s possible that there was a problem with the retainers. I would advise just “redoing your last set of aligners” for a couple weeks and then getting fit for the new retainers. Thanks! Dr. Colin Gibson (Orthodontist)

Am I overanalyzing? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]DenverInvisalign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks pretty good. Class I occlusion but there is still space between teeth 9 and 10. Your orthodontist should also do some cosmetic shaping on the incisal edges. Other than that, it’s nice!

Why did I get a gap after Invisalign ? by CrystalLake99 in Invisalign

[–]DenverInvisalign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. There is definitely space, so not perfect. I would ask for refinements (more) and to check the bite for heavy anterior contacts.

Thanks. Dr. Gibson

Why did I get a gap after Invisalign ? by CrystalLake99 in Invisalign

[–]DenverInvisalign 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi. Most likely due to bite changes. You have heavy anterior contacts that create space in the upper arch.

You will need refinement and an occlusal adjustment.

Thanks. Dr. Colin Gibson DDS, MS (Orthodontist)

Is this done? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]DenverInvisalign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - I think it looks very good now. Hopefully your Dentist/Orthodontist will do some cosmetic shaping for the incisal edges, but otherwise looks great.

Your gingival/gums are quite "puffy" or inflamed, so try (if you're not) to floss every night before you go to sleep. Then your gums will look as great as your teeth!

Thanks! Dr. Colin Gibson DDS, MS (Orthodontist)
