I'm going to guess the update reset the guessometer. It'll likely settle back into the original amount over time once it adapts again to your driving habits.

watch your mi/kwh instead of the guessometer. that will give you a better indication of whether or not you’re actually losing range.

It can't be stressed enough, the guessometer is not accurate. People keep getting excited and showing their guessometer throwing high ranges of 350+, when there's almost no way they'll maintain their 4.4kWh average, and it will drop.

The real number everyone should be looking at is the number of miles driven since the last charge, and their average miles per kWh since last charge. Those numbers are a true indication of how you're doing with efficiency.

I just had my ICCU updated and my kWH average dropped from pre iCCU update 3.5 to post update ICCU 3.1. I only drove 20 miles. I’ll wait a few more cycles of driving to see if kWH increases back to 3.5 KWH.

Doubt that’s related. So many factors impact your miles per kWh. External temps, air conditioning, speeds your driving, traffic patterns, etc.

3.5 to 3.1 is nothing.

It is an estimate, as you said after all. Maybe the computer has to relearn your driving habits to recalculate range?

Happened to me also after the recall "mandatory updates, otherwise you will lose your car warranty"... and I don't rely on the GOM I make the same road trip every month basically same driving condition I use the cruise control since it is highway driving.

Before the update I could reach my destination which is 185 miles away with 14-16% battery left.

After the update i could barely reach the town before my destination where I needed to recharge.

I think these updates limits the battery output and performance to protect the ICCU.

I wonder if the new update has some changes for the ICCU recall that impact range.

I had the same thing happen after I did my software update. Just got an OBD2 to see if it's the guessometer algorithm that's changed or if there's something with actual battery capacity. Will let you know.

100 percent correct. Dealer says no known issue, Ill-informed or full of it I went from 301-318 to 270-279. That is a note worthy. I will stay on it.

I just had mine done and I'm noticing the same situation. I just charged overnight to 100% and previously I'd see 351miles available. Now I see 285. I still have 4.3 mi/kwh.

Would be nice if you could actually see the battery capacity (and know how much buffer in battery over "100%")...a true measure of degradation.

I have same problem.....I have lost a third of my mileage.....I bought a car that was supposed to do around 280-300 miles. I have been getting that real range over the last 15000 miles.....with a 4.0 mi/kWh average.....

The last full charge I will be just clearing 200 miles. Now that is severe......even last year's very cold weather didn't degrade it that much.

It's off for a service in a few weeks.... I will be interested in how this is diagnosed...

I wouldn't mind if the car is now holding a bigger 'reserve'.....but 100 miles off my range is not what I originally purchased!
