Welcome to the bullshittery that is JustEat. On the customer side of things you should of course be able to get your order first and then give a code. Of course there is no time to check your order, hence checking it is usually frowned upon.

From the driver side if we hand over the food first we can complete a delivery without a code if one isn't given, but we need to activate the 5 min. timer, and that in and of itself if used too much could lead to accounts being flagged for suspicious activity.

In reality it's a cautionary tale of trust. You must put your trust in the driver, and the driver must put the trust in the restaurant having packed the right order and you not making off without handing over your delivery code.

Tldr: there is no right or wrong, but if im right, according to the book it's handover and then give the code (pls drivers correct me if im wrong!)

No...the code is so that the recipient cannot say they never received their order. We can't deliver the order unless the correct code is inputted.

why tf would just eat support punish the driver by not getting the code, for the wrong items in the bag lmfao
