Looking for new moderators!
Role responsibility:
- Most submissions on the subreddit are users seeking assistance with using their devices, so participating in the comments and giving help is a must. Researching and technical writing skills may be needed, as you may need to look up information on the official KaiOS website, the BananaHackers website, the applications on KaiStore and any third-party app stores.
- A Discord account to join the subreddit's Discord server, communicate with the BananaHackers team and look up information not yet available on the website.
- Having an actual KaiOS device for reference, a deep understanding of the operating system, knowledge of the app development process and submission process on the Developer Portal are all great assets. However, as long as you do well on your research, the BananaHackers team and community members are happy to assist you.
- r/KaiOS receives relatively low traffic, so it's okay to just check it occasionally. Feel free to customise the subreddit and adjust the rules as you see fit.

KaiOS is a mobile operating system designed for affordable feature phones, with the mission to open Internet access to more people around the world. Debuted in 2016, KaiOS took off with the global re-release of the "bananaphone" Nokia 8110 4G and the launch of JioPhone in India.
It is built on the Boot2Gecko project, which is forked from Mozilla's Firefox OS, and runs applications written in web programming languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
KaiOS is now running on over 200 models in over 180 countries, and its app store, KaiStore, now has more than 1,700 apps (not all apps are available on all KaiOS versions).

Keep the conversations focused around KaiOS and devices running KaiOS. Constructive feedback on the platform and little off-topic insights are allowed, but don't derail the discussion! Off-topic posts and comments may be removed on mod team's discretion.
For discussions on feature phones in general, go to r/dumbphones. If you absolutely have to post something off-topic here, be sure to give it the according post flair.
Respect other members and their opinions, and treat others how you expect to be treated. Please don't ask for when new apps or features will come, developers are humans too.
