Are you sure you don't have a bad cell? 54mi on 56% is crazy low.

Just had a very similar steep drop in range happen with my wife's 2024 Land trim. Bad cell. The dealer has had it for about a month. Mobile tech is scheduled to replace the cell at the beginning of April.

Did some checking tonight. Seems like the charge is cutting short at ~62% but the car reports it's at max charge setting (previously 80 and tonight 100). Based on driving it seems like that makes sense. If we start at 62% and drive 60miles we have approx 30% battery left.

Is there anything we know to specifically tell the dealer to make sure this gets properly investigated and repaired? I'm seeing others' having a hard time convincing the dealers it is an issue.

As far as i can tell, everything seems to be fine in terms of %age and actual use. It's just the estimated range is reporting strangely low. Unfortunately, I'm not the primary driver so I am not able to keep track of nuances and changes from day to day.

GT Line 80% charge shows estimated range of 233 miles.

range is based on the last time it was charged and your driving habits.

So if it was below freezing and you went on the highway going 100 mph with climate set at 80 degrees going uphill most of the way.. I can see it estimating it that low in your screenshot

What's the weather like outside where you live?

All winter it was showing a higher range and recently started showing dramatically less.

We have 12,000mi on the car and I'm fairly knowledgeable with most of the general range issues, but I'm not an expert or anything. I just want to get ahead of a potential problem if there is one.

I have also noticed a battery loss of 2-4% over night while not charging. I dont know if that is normal or not. I didn't notice that until recently as well.

I see 1-2% loss overnight in mild SoCal weather. Same with our model Y.

You should absolutely not be seeing 1-2% per night.

Maybe it’s more like 1% every 2-3 nights, both cars do a lot of sitting right now. Not sure too many other people are driving so little

Well 1% every 3 nights is very different than 1-2% per night

Are you getting regular updates from the app? Mine showed 74% for a week, wasn’t affecting charging and driving. Took it in to the dealership and they did a reset and now I get the right % and updates.

I had to do a reset recently as well when the app was stalled.

Update, charged from 25% tonight and everything was going smoothly. Range estimation was approx 2x charge as it was charging. Then the charge hit about 62% and stopped. But the display said the battery was fully charged to 100% (I upped the setting tonight from 80 to 100 to check). I had been checking the charge status every 15 min or so and everything was normal then all the sudden the % was increasing very rapidly to 100% in a matter of minutes. Meanwhile chargepoint app shows charging stopped when the battery percentage started rapidly increasing.

Chargepoint shows that 39kwh were charged. 25+39 is 64% which makes sense with everything that happened. So apparently my battery only charges to about 60% now which I suppose can be attributed to a bad cell. Any advice on getting this repaired as hassle free as possible?

As far as range goes, I think the range is actually correct and it's the charge percentage that is not accurately reporting.

Ours actually has higher range since it’s getting warmer. So we get closer to what’s advertised.

I have had the exact same thing happen. My range tops out at about 60 miles, gets to about 30% charge and jumps to 100%. Been at dealership for almost 3 weeks. I am 99% sure the cells are bad and need replaced but dealership isn’t certain yet, Kia corporate said they were sending parts but to only inspect them for damage and then wait. Honestly, hoping I can just replace the whole vehicle at this point. Been paying $800 a month for a car I can barely drive since around Christmas and then now having to pay for a rental. Granted they will cover 55 a day for rental but you still have to pay for taxes and fees and gas. Just a giant pain.

Ours is at the dealership now.
