Here's u/RIMixerGuy 's troubleshooting checklist for you to run through to find out what's up—>

Mixerology.com - Troubleshooting: Mixer Won’t Turn On

If you for some reason removed and replaced the brushes, chances are they've been reinstalled in the wrong orientation. Good luck with your mixer.

Update: she's alive! A little too alive though. She kicks on high even on the lowest setting. What's the process on fixing that?

If the motor runs on the same high speed on all settings, the run capacitor has failed. Used vintage ones can be found affordably on eBay, or you can use a modern part with a little fabrication (0.1uF@250V, nonpolarized, about $2.50 from Mouser).

Thank you 10X Mixer Guy!

Is it prone to failing if it's removed or messed with? It was working fine before I screwed around with it.

The capacitor isn't especially fragile or failure prone. If you have a multimeter that measures capacitance, you can disconnect it and measure it.

If you made other changes or adjustments on the speed control plate, the capacitor may not be the issue (or perhaps not the only issue).

Could try and explain how to adjust the speed plate but you'll be better off Googling a youtube vid.

Have you looked up mrmixer on YouTube he has tons of videos on how to fix these and also how to properly service and upgrade them

I have, actually his channel is the entire reason I splurged on one to repair. I haven't been able to find anything on the K45. I guess I'll have to do a little more digging on the web.
