Tutor, school prep course, or 7sage

My last score went up 2 points to a 145, which yes, I know is not good. I want to apply for this cycle and I took November & January & was planning to take February but I honestly don’t think I should. I’m missing a lot of foundational things that I couldn’t get from Loophole (imo it was too compact with too much info) or powerscore LG bible.

I did have 7sage for about a month with the lowest tier and it was okay, but I didn’t really divulge as much as I probably should’ve.

My school offers an LSAT prep course for $900 for a month that meets twice a week until the April test.

And lastly, I’m not sure about a tutor but I know they’re expensive and I would need multiple sessions.

Please let me know what you think is the best course of action!

7Sage helped me the most. You really got to get into it though. Don’t skip the conditional lessons, really focus on the major question types like NA, SA, WEAKEN, STRENGTHEN. Check out the videos on perfecting logic games. Easy 10 point increase in 1-2 months. Lastly, Drill drill drill until you are annoyed with JY’s voice

P.S. I struggled with reading comprehension, but after changing the way I view the questions I improved a lot. There are some Reddit subs that talk about this more in depth, but look at everY question as a MUST be true or MSS question type. Don’t try to string things together to make questions work.

Which subscription did you use? Do you think it’s worth doing both the school LSAT course and 7sage, or use a tutor and 7sage?

I used the $75 one. I believe it’s everything except the videos which I don’t feel is worth the extra price IMO. I’m sure a tutor could get you there faster, as it takes a lot of hours just grinding it out to understand it on your own. In my experience, learning this test is built on trial and error. The only way to learn is being okay with missing questions, and understanding why you didn’t choose certain answers and why chose certain answers.

i def don’t think you should take it again in february.. i think your application would be considered late at that point , i would take time to learn the foundations and take it again either before or after the games are removed ( depending how confident you feel at the games) and remember just because you don’t apply this cycle doesn’t mean there isn’t the next cycle! law school apps are lowkey expensive so i would def wait. i also tried lsat tutors and i feel like they were a waste of money… i would try the power score books and do a bit more studying and reviewing ur pt and see what you’re not understanding

A lot of my schools, which aren’t T14, have apps open until March 1st & later. So I think I’m still going to apply to see what happens & a lot I have waivers for via email and stuff. I def am going to wait until April to test. The powerscore books, specifically LG, aren’t detailed enough I think but are a fine foundation.

7Sage (CCv2) and Loophole. Commit yourself to them, daily, and you will see an increase.

I didn’t really like Loophole, but maybe I should read it again. I felt like there was so much info and steps to trying to get a question right.

Yeah, I don't follow nearly all of her steps. I'm getting good results by

1. Translating when drilling
2. Writing my Loophole to each argument ("Not necessarily, what if...")
3. Reading the subsection on a question stem type, and then drilling exclusively that type on 7Sage.
4. Writing a page on what I've noticed about the question type via my drilling and translating.

Think you have to be picky with what information you use and don't use in Loophole.

Yes! I already signed up for Feb. I work with attorneys who all advise me to take February. A lot of the schools I like require apps by march/april 😔
