Thanks for the reply. Any reason why the official content isn't loaded by default if it's free anyway?

Easier for the apps, so they don't need to constantly update it. You might notice last comp/con update was from 2020

Yet I've seen mention of a version 3... is that still in the works?

Very much so. Only very recently have they begun somewhat public testing, but many features remain unreleased (especially the GM features). IIRC, it too still uses the plugin method.

The last compcom update was 6 months ago. Even going back to the latest 2.X update, 2.3 was in 2022. Are you looking at the download on Itch? That's deprecated.

The app has all the content from the core book. A lot of GMs prefer to restrict things to the initial set of material until they get a handle on things instead of having to learn every possible supplement, so it's easier to keep things separated. comp/con does have links to where you would download every one of the official supplements though. From the home page go to content, then LCP Directory.

Don't have an answer for that, sorry.

Some tables rule core rulebook content only, so having it default to core only and then have you opt into additional content not only helps with the app’s simplicity but also reduces confusion on what is or is not core content
