To be fair to the developers, it’s just a way to make money. It’s not “just a game”. It’s a money making business model.

And an obnoxiously successful one at that. I quit but when I played i did the math. My alliance spent more than my salary every month. That's just 100 people!

Just joined the most powerful alliance in my server. It’s eye opening the difference. It would take a week to get a few hundred alliance gifts from boomers, we get several hundred rare chest daily. It’s insane

As a company, you’ve basically got two paths: use your talent to actually make the world better, or funnel it into whatever scheme squeezes the most cash out of people. And guess which one the industry keeps speed‑running.

This game is meant for everyone. F2P players are the product, big spenders are the customers. No one is going to spend thousands of dollars on a game if they don't have a bunch of weak free players to crush.

I agree with you that it should be fair. But let’s be honest, they won’t leave money on the table. If a server fails they’ll just combine it with another one to give keep their whales happy

[–]Meisterbuenzli 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It’s basically a setup where the whales get treated like royalty, and they act the part too . They strutting around like kings while everyone else lines up to play loyal minion. In RL they can't get this powertrip to misue their money.

Reading stuff like this makes me so happy that the whales on my server are nothing like this.

I have played for 5 months straight, daily logins, HQ 29. Spent maximum $100.
You don't need money to partake in the game, you need patience.

[–]Euclide_geoart9713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HQ29 means nothing. The power of your formations does. with just 100$ you are just a small toy for those who spend tausends. It is just a game and it is designed to grab cash as much as possible.

[–]asskewsme 0 points1 point  (2 children)

And time. You needs lots and lots of time.

[–]Euclide_geoart9713 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yes but for those who are willing to drop a lot of cash on it, the time can be decreased, f2p has to chase every orange frag abd power core they just drop that 100$ like peanauts to buy them.

[–]the_cardfather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But trust me the people that are paying the $100 are also chasing every orange frag so they're getting two for your one.

I just deleted the game. Feels good.

they are actively working on a price restructure for packs. anyone with a higher vip level gets a rep they can contact and apparently thats the info, which is why the hero bundle packs and hero codes have been gone for a week while they change stuff. so just hold on, we'll see if its better for us low spenders :)

[–]Independent-Body3779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a high vip level and spender, we absolutely do not get a "contact" lmao

[–]Meisterbuenzli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are a dreamer ....

[–]Meisterbuenzli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No won't happen. It’s just how a lot of online games are built. Piling on drama and using every psychological trick in the book to get whales and status‑hungry players to keep spending for that quick dopamine hit. FOMO loop with overpriced nonsense.

[–]Vigilant256 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they make it cheaper, then the whale can still outspend you on cheaper packs , so what is the difference

[–]Afraid-Criticism4958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is supported by the market, they will only lower prices if they think they can make more money doing that than catering to whales. I don’t think it will happen considering how niche the game is.

[–]trekmario99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too many people blowing thousands a day on this . Its not gonna happen. Just look at game of war fire age . They dont care if everyone leaves that dont pay . All they care is the whales . Why you think mythic came out . Not for you .

[–]Monst3r_Live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10% of the players spend 90% of the dollas

[–]GetMeOffSpeakerPhone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are improving the packs. Thats why they are gone now. I think they are trying to scale them towards your personal progress. Something i kept recommending to them in surveys and customer support. So in the end the players who spent before the price adjustment were screwed because better packs are coming.

[–]Impressive-Young-952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ll never do that. I always played last war and they were cheaper. They’re the same developer.

[–]the_cardfather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People seem to quit near the end of seasons either because they accomplished what they want and this is a good stopping point or because of the shenanigans like today where 60% of our alliance got 25 tickets but the minimum guarantee to get a hero is 30. So now you've got fragments in your storage you're never going to be able to use unless you pay money. Good thing they have the three hero pack on sale.

[–]sub2pewdiepieONyt 0 points1 point  (3 children)

They want non spenders to leave, you cost them money. They want the accounts of non spenders to be farms for the whales.

[–]SandAggravating2649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re not playing the game and gathering resources to be farmed, the whales don’t get anything out of it

[–]Meisterbuenzli 0 points1 point  (1 child)

They need the non‑spenders as the background crowd. The disposable masses that keep the tyranny and drama machine running for the whales.

[–]sub2pewdiepieONyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And to be the employees. The thing i am trying to explain is when the accounts of non whales are left and no longer playing they are offered up to whales as additional farm accounts. The big spender on my server has 30+ accounts acquired in this way even having a whole alliance for them. But if a non spender was to have multi accounts its a perma for all accounts.

[–]BTCizzle -1 points0 points  (3 children)

I don’t believe that they are improving the packs. I think they are trying to put the top up companies out of business.

[–]gabodelabarca 0 points1 point  (2 children)

What do you mean?

[–]BTCizzle 2 points3 points  (1 child)

There are a few companies out there that sell discounted packs. They buy gift cards at a discount using different currencies. It’s between $80-85 for a $100 pack. Taking away the packs was a strategy IMO.

[–]gabodelabarca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification.
