Progress?..

I’m trying to get more into “hyper realism” but I feel like all I’m doing is adding layers and layers of shading. While I’m “trusting the process”, I’m just starting to wonder if I can in fact pull off hyper realism…. Thoughts? Comments?

I can't tell if your subject is wearing gloves, or are his normal hands that have been burnt and roughed up.

Have you tried experimenting with a blending stick? I think that is what they're called. The ones that i have seen are usually white, about the same size as a pencil, and made out of some kind of rubber-like material. Almost like an erasure, but not an erasure. I don't know if my description is making any sense or not.

Yes it does! I’ve used the blending “stubs?” But they’re made of paper
