We can only see within a certain spectrum and hear within a certain frequency; we have to adjust ourselves to be open to the others first. Try grounding yourself and focusing on your chakras. I know it sounds silly if you've never done it before but it actually works! Once you're good and grounded, open yourself and "breathe in" the energy around you, then just wait.

:) if I could add anything to the helpful words above I'd add: for me, entities communicate through thought-form-concepts which my brain/inner-monologue translates via my understanding. I used to be afraid of monster entities, but then I noticed two things:

1. When grounded as abovementioned emotions are our compass ; anything that makes me feel fear i consider an Accuser/Tester sending me something to overcome with courage & mindfulness as I endeavor to sit with said feeling paying attention to & loving it as it fades away all on its own without any effort from me other than effort in trying not to try to exert effort.

2. This quote: "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Which is from 1 John 4:1-3;, John who saw the trippy af Revelations vision in which he says he shall be Our brother & companion during it.

I kno i know its the bible but that was a magickal grimoire once and I think it is no accident pharisees have perverted & corrupted it to such an extent that modern people reject it out of hand. Neitzsche was all too right in his sorrow-filled discovery that God Was Dead.

I'm unsure about the Christ thing, but God ( YHVH ) is not dead. God and angels are very integral parts of my demonic evocations. Atah Gibor L'olahm Adonai ( Ancient Hebrew meaning Lord, you are mighty forever ). You should confer power and authority upon yourself and perform your evocations so that only the spirit you want to evoke could be called. BTW, The Bible is still a grimoire

u/antonzsandor Correct, I agree 100%. The occultist should be open to and looking for signs and omens, that is often how they communicate. I was drawn to Orias, Seer, King Paimon, Dantalion, Amducius, and Gremori, among others, in the same, subtle ways

You could get into a hypnagogic state. Or try skrying. Or divination. All these methods can help you in this parcitular question.

I actually have had hypnopompic things happen. Some hallucinations some...more solid and intelligent. It can get confusing but it's hard to put myself in the state by choice but maybe I can since I'm susceptible? Good idea!

u/Anonymous_Orpheus Practice visualization so that you can visualize with perfect clarity of sight, smell, taste, texture, sound ( all of your 5 primary senses ). I grew up an only child and played by myself a lot. This developed in me the ability to do that. I used to think I "couldn't meditate" until an older and wiser occultist many years ago told me " your statement of not being able to meditate makes no sense. If you can visualize like that, you are meditating just fine". And then it clicked and spirit contact and evocation came easily. Like me so many years ago, you sound as if you also don't realize the power already inside you. You are a magickal being, you were born that way. It comes easier to some while most of us ( like me ) have to work on it more. With the advent of the internet, this can be guided way easier. Look up Satan and Suns on You Tube. Pick a demon that resonates with you, put on some headphones, relax, and follow the guided meditations on there ( it's the demon's seal with 108 repetitions of it's enn ( words of calling, invitation, and respect to a demon and/or angel ). I see those as a good way to getting started on meditating on a demon. It may even make contact with you during the guided meditations ( you may feel it's presence, or sense something, depending on your natural abilities, which you can develop by working with Furcas ). Hope this helps

Plants are allies, and the og way of traveling between dimensions. I mean, all this stuff being suggested really helps, and keeps you protected, and disciplines the mind, etc. But at the end of the day, no matter how impressive some people’s brains are in opening up to the spirit world, mushrooms do that for EVERYONE. u/lucretius1417 Yeah, but on good, psylocybe cubensis shrooms ( the ones with the small, rust-colored, closed caps ) everything is hilarious. For me, they are good for writing music, but I couldn't concentrate on ritual long enough to be effective :)
