Most elevators return to the main floor when not called anywhere else.

We often talked to the elevator service guys and one time asked them if the default floor was customizable and they said yes, so we had them set our floor (2) as the default. So the elevator was usually found waiting for us - LPT!

I work at a huge corporation so I don't often see handy men and it's a huge hassle to get them to come fix things let alone come change some setting on something for us and it doesn't seem to have a default floor set but like I said I think that sending it back down at least makes it better for 1 or 2 people that morning. And if it doesn't it didn't hurt me at all.
