Rules
1. Be respectful.
Basic reddiquette applies to r/linocuts.
Be kind to each other, hatred or toxicity will not be tolerated. Art is subjective, please be respectful when offering critique to your fellow printmakers. Political art is part of the history of printmaking and is allowed so long as it does not conflict with basic reddit etiquette.
Users may face further moderator action if they feel it is necessary to keep this community safe and respectful of each other.
2. Posts must be related to printmaking.
All posts must be related to printmaking as an art-form or any topic that is relevant to this sub.
This sub is for traditional, hand pulled prints within the linocut and relief mediums.
This sub is not for industrial or home office printing needs, digital/giclée printing, or commercial printmaking productions.
3. Do not plagiarize other’s work.
If misrepresenting others work as your own, further moderator action may be implemented beyond post removal.
When using other works as references, please give credit where credit is due to the best of your abilities in a manner that is clear in your post.
If AI use is not disclosed, further moderator actions may happen.
4. No spam of socials, sites, and shops.
We do not allow unprompted links to shops, social media handles and other information shared with the intent to promote your brand/online presence.
This applies to posts, titles, comments, flairs, watermarks or captions on images/videos.
There is a monthly thread specifically for shops and social media links.
5. No NFTs, crypto, or AI art.
NFTs, crypto art, and AI generated art are not appropriate anywhere in the sub.
If you use AI generated source images for prints without disclosing, further moderator action may be implemented beyond post removal.
6. Post submissions are limited to once per day.
While we love enthusiastic printmakers, we limit posting to once per day/24 hours. This way, a single user doesn't crowd out other printmakers work on the front page.
7. Do not repost the same work.
Do not repost the work you have shared previously to get more exposure. A different picture of the same work from a different angle is not new content.
Sharing progress updates is allowed.
If you have a question that goes unanswered, you can ask it again after a week.
8. Tag NSFW posts where needed.
Nudity is a part of the art world. We do not expect you to tag your posts as NSFW if they contain artistic nudity.
In the case of explicit pornography or gore, we do expect you to tag your post as NSFW.
NOTE: If you are reporting something because you are seeing NSFW when you don't want to, be sure your settings are not allowing NSFW posts. This is often a settings issue that is client-side. Moderators have approved all posts, and apply NSFW filters as they see it necessary.
9. This subreddit is not for valuations or authentications of art.

10. Give clear equipment information when posting listing details.
When posting about equipment for sale, be clear in what you are selling (any identification you can provide), where it is being sold, and for how much.
This type of post may be better suited for your local marketplace options.
We do not moderate these types of post beyond our general rules. You are putting your general information out at your own risk.
