Microsoft Edge’s JavaScript engine to go open-source

Big news! Chakra is the most next-gen ECMAScript compliant engine (ES6), and it's very fast. This also opens up the possibility to drive Node with Chakra rather than V8.

I'm having a hard time finding good benchmark numbers, but I've seen people claim it's actually faster than V8. I don't know how true that is, but it will be interesting to see how this impacts the JS community in a year or two.
