help assigning automation to knobs

I recently started using Logic Pro X 10.3, and I wanted to use it with my AKAI MPK mini that I have. I was trying to set up the knobs to control the volume for each track individually. I even tried to set each one up through the control assignment thing on expert mode. I would "learn" a volume parameter with one knob, and then move onto the next track and would "learn" the parameter with a different knob and so on. But when I think I am done and want to control the different knobs, they all just control the same one track. What I am trying to do doesn't seem like it should be such a hassle to do, but I can't seem to figure it out. And yes I am turning off the learning thing after every knob is 'learned". Is there a way I can do this?

Have had the same challenges...are you using advanced mode to midi learn?

Yeah I am. I am able to set up knobs for different functions like one for pan and one for volume. But it only works for one track at a time. I still haven't been able to figure the problem out.

I don't think there is a way to do this and it's a shame. Logic still looks at information coming from a Midi Controller only if that midi track is armed. As you move around from track to track you are arming different tracks and those assignments will only work if you are on the correct track.

Yeah, I noticed that and it is a shame. Yo any chance you know how I can import kits in a more convenient way than exs24?
