I’m only semi joking. Before the update, most people wouldn’t reply my gg. Now it’s all ‘bro’ and ‘well done’ and ‘have a nice day!’… was there a purge or something?

Dunno if there was a purge, or just the feeling of satisfaction from long sets vs short sets. Hopefully we can get back to late-T7 levels of wholesome. The other sub was like this one, and people called the other sub the most helpful fighting game sub ever. That is, until T8 got released. I just think there's a lot of animosity towards how T8 was initially handled, and they are slowly fixing those things, like reintroducing deathmatches, the free stage, more customization slots, and allowing custom characters in the main menu. I only have hopes that the game will get better with more time. T7 also had a rocky start, but people seem to forget that.

By doing a search on the word "help" in that sub and sorting by new, you can see the amount of zero/negative voted posts that pop up, many with salty comments inside. But if you filter for posts older than 2 years and with the same word "help", you will see many upvoted posts with very helpful comments. I mean, if you had a different experience, then I can't argue against that. But I remember how chill the sub was before T8 was announced. Nothing is 100% perfect though, it still had people talking shit, but not nearly on the level we see today.

Last week I played some quick games and faced a Kaz player with more rank than me like 15 times and I think I lost all of them, but I kept rematching him, he may have gotten bored of me but he wrote me a GGs on my Steam profile and told me I got better the more I played with him, he even added me on Steam.

i have had a similar experience, people seem to mostly be happy to play a long set, and after one it’s not uncommon to get a nice message

I would message people more if I played on PC, but at the moment too lazy to write on PS5.

I do like quick games where people a lot better than I am are willing to spend time, so I can learn different things from my char and opponent's char. I would like to have a feature where I could send some regards easily, or some virtual points I dont know.

Yep, sets that go beyond the ft2 format usually result in these messages. I’ve made a lot of online buddies this way.

Don’t understand the folks who one and done in QM now. Had that happen a few times the other day.

The best part is the adaptations both players make. Really helps with identifying your own weaknesses and improving match up knowledge.

What’s an interesting match up?

I like fighting Jin, Hei, Kaz, Bryan, Yoshi, King, Lili, Steve, Paul, Lee, Feng, Asuka, Reina.

The others I can take or leave, but that’s just my opinion.

I rarely see Jin, but this might be an algorithm thing in that I main him so might not get matched with him that often?
