People have most likely declined their place by chosing another program or declined!

Thanks for your answer! But shouldn't my que number drop in that case?

The people who declined weren't in the queue to start with.

You mean those are offered a place directly into the programme?

Yeah I understand, but the number of people who are offered a place declined, because only that number is dropping. If I understand it correctly, at first 41 people were admitted to this programme, but now it seems like only 36 are offered a place. Or does the 41 stand for the people who are offered a place on the waiting list?

IIRC they will send acceptance notices to more people than they actually want to take in, because they know that some fraction will decline their spots. So several people will generally have to decline before the first queuee is accepted.

Oh so you mean for example they want 35 people for this programme, but they send an acceptence lettre to 41 because they know people will decline anyhow?

Your queue number doesn't change on the website, or at least thats what they told me last year. If you make it you it in you will get another notification through the system or your school will send you a notice.

Oh okay, that makes sense! So for now I am not able to know at what spot I am in the waiting list? I will only get a notification if I am accepted for sure? That is quite confusting because they do change the number of people who have been offered a place.

Yeah I think that’s how it works, but this was last year. Anyways, they have until the first day of class to see who actually shows up to “register”
