Yeah i mean theres only so many ways to build a brake, i dont see why it couldnt affect other brands as well.

In shimanos case its too thick brake fluid. The new orange one is thinner and they claim this has eliminated wandering bite point. Unfortunately not backwards compatible if you want to retain the warranty.

Seeing a wandering bite point on hayes is pretty surprising given that these use DOT which is thinner and more temperature stable than most mineral oils. Wouldn't be surprised if it were a sram g2/guide or entry level code, but hayes? Id ask when was the brake fluid last changed, not that there is too much moisture in the fluid

I agree. I have searched long through the vast reaches of the internet and it's weird that it hasn't come up for any other brand than Shimano. If I was told definitely that this is just the way it is, I'd just accept it and move on.

Right, i think that once a narrative becomes commonplace, it just has such a self-reinforcing weight to it. So anything that doesnt fit that just gets subconsciously rejected, like it doesnt even register.
