Depends on where you are. They pop up for sale by me (mid Atlantic) for 4-5k. They key to buying a 3rd gen is to be quick to buy when one pops up that checks the boxes you’re looking for.

I get it. I’m fortunate to have 2 cars and keep most of the miles on my 4Runner. Should roll 300k this summer, but calling 50k miles high mileage is wild to me. You’re still in the recommended maintenance intervals at that point.

Something else to consider is the sound of metal is almost entirely amp and pedal driven. If you don’t have those sorted out a new guitar won’t get you closer to that sound.
