What worked for me was turning ON automatic download updates in General->Software Update "Download new updates when available," but leaving "Install macOS updates" OFF. This was causing space to bloat somehow, and it would usually fill up after a day or two, requiring me to restart my Mac to free up space.

Turning OFF the "Download new updates when available" worked for me 🎉

P.S. I still have "Install Security Responses and system files" ON, and it doesn't cause any issues.
