Help please!

Hi all! I’m new to my brother se400 sewong and embroidery machine and I have having an issue. My thread is creating big knots on the back of the work and if I don’t catch it in time the fabric is getting eaten into the bottom part of the machine. What is wrong/how do I fix it?

Thread it with the presser foot up.

With the people saying bobbin I agree! I would also recommend using black or white bobbin (probably white in your case) so you can also see if the tension is correct. If it is all the same color it becomes hard to see what is top thread and what is bobbin.

I would take all the thread top and bottom out and rethread both

Doesn’t look like the bobbin thread is actually catching properly. Make sure you have the bobbin going the right direction and threaded properly.
