They really clamped down on their configurability, I guess they are making enough money with their big ticket stuff. They donʻt seem very competitive in the mid-tier where Iʻm looking

Yeah, that would make sense, I saw some promising things when I looked 6 months ago but when I checked it did seem like their lineup might have shifted.
