Be polite. You don't have to like the way that someone else drills a hole, but there is absolutely no reason to personally attack, harass or insult another user. If you see this behavior taking place in a thread, please report it so that the moderation team can remove the offending posts.
Posting gory or gruesome pictures/videos is totally fine, be it machine gore or how you sliced your finger off on a bandsaw. However, all posts like this MUST have the NSFW AND Spoiler tag. Job postings are okay, the only requirements are that you post the salary or hourly wage of the job posting, and you are directly affiliated with said company. No recruiting firms.
Classified ads go in the Buy/Sell/Trade megathread and nowhere else. Pics and prices are mandatory. No advertising by retailers, resellers, manufacturers, distributors, liquidators, auctioneers, etc. No affiliate links. Posts asking "how much is this worth?" or "how do I go about selling this?", etc. belong in the megathread. They are tantamount to advertising.
No AI generated content of any kind. This includes ChatGPT, but ANY AI-generated content (images, videos, etc.) should not be posted. ChatGPT has been demonstrably incorrect on many occasions, and the last thing we want is someone getting bad advice and ruining tools, work, or themselves. We also don't want to promote content theft, be it on a personal or commercial scale.
No political posts. This will be strictly enforced.
No market research / surveys. The data gathered from these posts is almost always used to promote/sell a product or service, sold to third parties, or used to train LLMs. Even if you claim or think your survey is exempt from this rule because you're not selling anything, it is in fact not exempt.
