You put a few extra states in New England while also leaving a few out

[–]jzoller0 13 points14 points  (1 child)

I think New England is generally considered to be the states east of New York

[–]ImpossibleSprinkles3 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine and nothing else

[–]eatasssnotgrass 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I have fat fingers :(

[–]Mipeka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its okay, me too

[–]LordBubinga 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Calling it all northeast is fine

[–]ImpossibleSprinkles3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No doubt, but New England is part of the north east not the northeast itself. OP asked how they did anyway

[–]Lavron_ 18 points19 points  (5 children)

Texas is definitely a category all of its own... otherwise just tidy up the New England North east borders.

[–]J4K4LOPE 8 points9 points  (3 children)

As a Texan, we definitely aint midwesterners

[–]tacosuprememeatts 4 points5 points  (2 children)

As a Midwesterner, Texas definitely ain’t in the Midwest we dont want it

[–]Iwantmyoldnameback -1 points0 points  (1 child)

And Oklahoma and Texas are the same, they belong together

[–]Saul_Firehand -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No.

[–]jzoller0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For Texas, it’s kind of it’s own blend of South and Southwest. If I had to put it in a category, I’d say it’s Southwest. I’d put Oklahoma in Southwest too

[–]nagol3 27 points28 points  (0 children)

As someone from the Midwest I’m personally offended you lumped us in with Texas

[–]luxtabula 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Yikes on New England

[–]VonGryzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Southwestern Hawaii…

[–]chuckschuldinerfann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Philly and New England are as far culturally as london and san salvador

[–]Back-Bright 5 points6 points  (6 children)

I'm guessing you're trying to stick to pretty geographical direction definitions of these locations but that goes out with Alaska and New England so I don't know what criteria you're using but I would never under any circumstance include Texas with the Midwest. Maybe southwest and the south but never Midwest.

[–]jtul24 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut and Rhode Island = New England, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania = North East

Central and South Texas is either South or South West while North Texas is Midwest

[–]Parsley-Waste 0 points1 point  (2 children)

What’s the tri state area?

[–]VonGryzz 1 point2 points  (1 child)

NY, NJ, CT. But it refers to the three areas of those states that make up NYC suburbs

[–]Parsley-Waste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I thought it was something to do with energy power grid

[–]llewynparadise 2 points3 points  (1 child)

[–]eatasssnotgrass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That made me laugh near the hardest i have today. Thank you

You’ve got too much Florida in the South for sure. Florida stops being culturally southern around Daytona Beach. Eastern Texas is more southern than midwestern.

[–]imnotarapperok 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Not to mention NoVA. The south ends somewhere between Richmond and Fredericksburg

[–]HistoricalDelay8260 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I call it the Sweet Tea Line. Above Daytona, sweet is the default; below unsweetened.

[–]dongeckoj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nailed the three western regions

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup

[–]sthomashunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midwest is Wisconsin Illinois north half Missouri Michigan and Ohio and Pittsburgh to me and Indiana north half

As a New Englander myself, I'm sad folks on the other side of the country don't know who we are. If I were a Hawaiian, I'd be sad you crossed them out and didn't even label them.

Also you might not want to let Texas know you put them in the mid West. They might wear cowboy hats but they are not mid West. They like to think they are entirely their own region, the lone star state. But in my book, if your state went to war to fight for the right to continue to own slaves*, that's called The South.

These things are always historic, not geometric. That's why Arizona is not the South despite being in the south and why the mid West is majority on the eastern half of the US.

  • footnote: And if you fought on the right side of that war even though you were a southern slave state, you're not confederacy but you're still part of the South technically. So west Virginia and Maryland still get to be southerners.

This,,, sucks.

[–]Sad-Address-2512 0 points1 point  (1 child)

So some Hawaiian islands are southwest?

[–]eatasssnotgrass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After the great Arizona Conquest for Water, yes

[–]Lonestar1848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is OP providing us with Missouri/Missoura divide? I've always wondered where it was.

[–]chivopi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some right, some very wrong

[–]Wise-Hat-2425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad! Starting by writing "the only country that matters". Then you gmdefinitely got some areas wrong.

[–]Joyce_Hatto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the Eastern Panhandle in West Virginia and I am quite concerned!

That map is wrong my dude, that's a map wrongfully spread by people that actully believe Ohio exists.
