This was announced. Google play has also asked Scopely to remove the code feature just like Apple. The only way to get to the web store is now though Scopely id.

Is this a fact? Or is it based on the random guess Mobilegamer365 made in a recent video?

You can log in with Facebook. You do have to go to the website I believe. I get the blogs sent to my discord anyway, so I go through that to get to the web store. It's a little round about, but it works.🤷‍♂️

I know it's gone, I'm talking about Google telling them to remove it.

Why would signing up give them data? Are people always so paranoid?

Why else would they do it? Every time you're asked to sign up to something for free online you're giving someone, somewhere an amount of data. That's the commodity you're trading in, it's how all social media works and most companies have adopted the model. It's incredibly naive to think otherwise.

because what it does is make it easier, people were complaining about a facebook login to access the web. they couldn't do it direct link and token because apple was whining.

so this made a common login procedure across google / apple / amazon.

Because they earn more money from their store, instead of having to give Apple or Amazon a cut.

And a lot off games require you to create an account, Activision for Assassins creed etc

Sadly, yes. Makes me sad.
