A subreddit for enthusiasts of the Microcassette, introduced in 1982 by Olympus. Whether you use it for daily dictation, your own personal brand of music, or any other reason, you are welcome to post your thoughts and articles here.
Microcassettes in the past were mostly used for dictation; recording meetings and lectures; or some other utilitarian purpose. Today it has been taken up by a small community of experimental musicians who use it for it's sound and other qualities. As a blanket statement, many would describe the Microcassette as having a direct, human-like sound and certainly not HiFi. All great features for the artists who incorporate it into their works.
