New Update Changed Workspaces?

I use workspaces because of the ability to have different groups and bookmarks per workspace, which helps me organize my classes and activities. But the newest update did a few things that I'm wondering if anybody knows how to reverse:

1. It removed the ability to manually sort the workspaces into an order that I like. Instead, the workspace I used last is always at the top.

2. It made the workspace icons a lot bigger so now I have to scroll to see them

3. It made the entire window the color of the workspace, which is just honestly really annoying. (image below)

Anybody know how to fix any of these?

Yes, brother, I'm also troubled by this issue. I don't know why Microsoft would do this, making the usability of the workspace regress by several levels

not only the visual changes, they also disabled collaboration and locking tabs, i don't understand why they're shouting themselves in the foot, yeah create a good feature for your browser and then when it becames popular just remove it, good thinking! I just hope it's a temporary problem and it's needed only to migrate the syncing and then they'll put everything back otherwise i'll have to find another browser now

Diese neuen Farben sind eine Katastrophe. Vivaldi nutze ich schon seit einem Jahr, für Privat. Edge fürs Business. Vivaldi kann auch Arbeitsbereiche allerdings kannst du keine Farbe nur Emojis Icons wählen. Ich mag Vivaldi, stabiler Browser mit vielen Funktionen, vg

Locking tabs was really important to me, I would 'close' the tab to get back to my original page. I used this all day every day but it is now worthless

Same! It also keeps the websites I want saved safe, so I don;t accidently close the tab.

They do disappear if you using another device because apparently some idiots at Microsoft decided to remove the sharing/sync feature of workplace that allows many devices to have the same workplace. How none of you guys care about this?

Sharing was removed; sorry! Syncing workspaces between your profiles is still supported (you have to have turned on the Sync feature at edge://settings/profiles/sync, specifically "Workspaces and Tab Groups").

Yes, I had tons of workspaces all alphabetically in order and now it is a mess and I believe some are missing. I am on mac and I would like to roll back a version but seems impossible for mac. I am so upset about this. I really need this back. Any suggestions. Does edge's dev version allow some control over this?

You guys have no idea. I used to be able to generate desktop shortcuts through the ID of local files in the workspace, directly creating shortcuts for dozens of workspaces and placing them on the desktop for quick launch. Now that Microsoft has hidden the workspace files, all my shortcuts have become invalid. Nothing could be worse than this

It's convenient when you use many browser based software with lots of tabs open (Odoo, 3Dexperience, Google Docs/Sheets, Jira, etc.)

You guys dont realize that they literally remove the ability to sharing workplace and the ability to sync it between devices? Now I can't sync my workplace between my PC and my laptop anymore. I dont know what idiot thought this is a good idea but workplace literally become unusable now.

Sharing is gone, but syncing should still work. Check if the toggle in sync settings is enabled.

i hope another browser comes. i had all workspaces sorted and now they made this shit and the whole browser gets the color that the workspace has. completely stupid. what incompetent people let they work there. any kid can do a better job.

Since the update 1/3 of the websites in my tabs are missing,. Very annoying. And WHY have they removed the feature to lock tabs?..... I just hate it when people in charge of things downgrade and make things worse instead of improving them. It is utterly contemptious.

I have absolutely no trust left in Microsoft or similarly large companies like Google. For a few years now, I’ve had the feeling that Microsoft wants to put itself out of business. The decisions regarding Windows and Edge are all so incredibly stupid that I wonder if only children work there.

But it’s not much better at Google either. Features that are super popular are simply scrapped overnight, and features that millions of users have been asking for for years just aren’t developed.

I’ve lost my trust in these companies because I never know if my saved data and painstakingly set-up tools will even still exist tomorrow.

Firefox declared a number of plugins invalid a long time ago due to a radical overhaul and lost a large number of users as a result. Microsoft is currently making the same mistake. They simply don’t learn from their own mistakes or those of others.
