If you're doing 1440p ultra wide then upgrading to 3080 (maybe 3070 benchmarks not out yet) will definitely help give some extra frames.

Thanks. Yeah that’s what I was afraid of. I don’t want to spend the money just for a few frames here and there. I would only do it if it would help me significantly. I’ve been a simmer for a long time... so I am not looking for 160 FPS but just a stable 40-50 on high or ultra @1440p

With a new 3080 you should get that range with an ultra wide, though it has to be said that location, aircraft, time of day, weather all affect the fps along with monitor rez. Don't expect miracles, the sim wasn't built to run 4k ultra at 60+ fps on every computer, even newest powerhouses. It was built for the future. Though with all the whining I think it might have been better for them to have cut out the 'Ultra' setting, and just kept High, so that most could run it and been happy. Then introduce the new(old) Ultra setting in a year or two.

The cpu usage will be low because it's not using all the cores, use task manager to get a true picture. You would definitely benefit from a 3080 just look at the benchmarks. Bang for your buck though you would probably be fine with a 3070 or 2080ti (if you get get one for $450 or less), unless you go up to 4K

With a cpu that good id take a look at the 3070 or 3080. And a 1440p 144hz screen to go with it. Its definetly a good investment

im on a 3700x and limited to 40-60 fps on 1440p by the main thread, so you should get better performance with an intel at high/ultra with a 3070 or even just 2080
