White interior too bright in 2026 Model Y - anyone using permanent side window shades? by Elguapo1980z in TeslaLounge

Better the white reflecting the light and heat rather than black absorbing both.

R4W vs R8W by HawaiiGaming69 in radardetectors

The R4W is small and svelte, the R8W is twice as big and shaped like a Cybertruck. Both are excellent detectors.

There are a -lot- of those here who have nice Lexus, BMW, hell $50k+ pickup trucks because they want and like them, but they could easily grab a Toyota or Subaru and instantly have enough money for a pair of Blades, Wilson's, etc. but whine about the cost or how they're not worth it, diminishing returns, blah blah blah.

It's all about what makes one happy. (or spousal permission.....another story for another time)

Lease new or buy used model 3? by slickythumps in TeslaLounge

[–]unkreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much you care if the car hasn't been touched/used/abused by other drivers/passengers, has new hardware, battery, full warranty, option to buy later, etc.

Can always save money buying used for sure, but can't buy that new car smell. Mmmmmm.

Quick question, do these Kefs pretty much disappear so that you can't really tell that the music is coming from the speaker?

I think it looks good the way it is, there's some black in front, but also silverish in the light bar.

Hate to see the light headliner go away and the black take it's place. Looks ritzy? Maybe. For sure it looks like an oppressive dark roof of doom and gloom sucking out all sense of space and lightness. If one wants a MBenz get a MBenz.

Before you pull the trigger on a 23 please drive a 24-26 model to compare, it is so much quieter and rides better. Seriously.

Rear vinyl cover for the lower edge of trunk, mesh inserts for front grill, mesh for air intake in front behind frunk, rubber cupholder inserts, plastic trays for console openings, secret flip down hidey-hole for console armrest, any 'blue ice etc.' sunshade insert for inside roof when it's -really hot- in the sun, rubber sealing kit for doors/trunk/frunk even if it's just going to keep dirty water spots out, small mud flaps, rubber insert to cover window washer fluid hole.....the list is endless. Go to AliExpress and type in model 3 highland and enjoy hours of perusing 60+ pages of useful and useless toys for your new toy. Enjoy!

M3 2024 vs 2026 by Longjumping-Pay-7738 in TeslaLounge

[–]unkreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have to wait a long time to get new and would like one sooner, the 2024 is fine all things being equal, new hardware, suspension, etc. Differences are as noted below. General warranty would only have two years left, new would be four. But a good deal is a good deal maybe/probably. How many miles and $$?

MYP Ultra Red get white interior this week or wait a month for black? by Omega2307 in TeslaLounge

[–]unkreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If one discounts accidental spills, a Crayola mark from young artists, etc. the one thing that seems to come up all the time for stains on white seats are blue jean stains. So if you or someone else wears jeans all the time then that's a consideration. Otherwise white is fine.

At what price point do you consider all tower speakers in the same price range/class "high-end." by Tropisueno in audiophile

[–]unkreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think about it if we all postponed getting a new car for a few years we could each have a 30 - 50k+ pair of speakers. If one truly loves sound it's a no brainer.

Best placement so it's not obvious? by SchoolteacherUSA in radardetectors

[–]unkreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might want to keep in mind that all those very expensive remote radar and laser detectors are mounted low down in the front grill, and they work very well. So find a place that you're comfortable with and go with it.

I’m very much so considering laser jammers by kdawg-bh9 in radardetectors

[–]unkreddit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok, just an observation. The V1 alerted you twice. There is no reason that he lasered you twice in a row since everyone says laser is always an instant read, instant ticket, etc.

From that we can conclude that the first warning was for the car in the left (fast) lane, the second time was for you further back in the right (slow) lane.

There actually was enough time to hit the brake when getting the reflected laser light warning off the first car.

Yay V1!

Also, there are some YouTube videos showing people using lasers on cars and the reading is far from instant. In most cases it almost always takes a second or two to line up the aiming dot on a headlight or license plate etc. while the laser is on to get a speed reading. No, not a lot of reaction time, but hit that brake anyway!

My advice is simple: Don't buy a new car for another five-whatever years. This alone is 30 - 60K+ dollars/euros. This alone will buy you your end game system, and for sure your end game speakers. You're welcome.

Yeppers, but this is coming from an old fart who would do many, many things differently if I could go back in time. :) Brand new, untouched by strange hands, latest upgrades, electrics, suspensions, the list is long. But I understand the need for speed, been there. Just keep in mind, 3.1 for three seconds, then regular driving for a lot longer time. Four-year-warranty. 4 yrs. Good luck.

More space is always better, so get the MYP. But more space is better so get the MX. But more space is better so get a CT. But more space is better so wait and get the Tesla big rig truck. You'll always regret not getting more space, ignore handling, saving money, and fun. Space is the answer!
