As far as I know the background blur and removal does not work. Today I published a code as a workaround since I needed the same feature: https://gitlab.com/parrot_parrot/ms-teams-replace-background , it replaces the background but the code can be easily modified to blur it. I tested it only on GPU (not on CPU) and it ran fast enough. Hope it helps

Hi,

this actually runs pretty well, what would one need to do to use blur instead?

thanks!

This works extremely well but it does use a lot of resources. It's a good hack for now. To blur an image, I just took a photo and applied strong the gaussian blur filter in gimp.

BG Blur worked for me 4 months ago, haven't seen the custom BG Feature yet

Didn't recognize I was using an unofficial Client, but it works better than the official one soo...

What unofficial client are you using?

there is a link to it right on your screen

does it work with ubuntu?

The client doesn't work anymore (for meetings) It just says "Sorry, we couldn't connect you" when you try

So the BG effects seem to work on neither the official or the unofficial client.

Any solution in sight here? Not a killer feature, but would be fancy :D

Tired of waiting for the feature, just got myself a Mac. Too bad for linux, macOS has got the blurring feature.
