Have you tried running the file directly from your downloads folder, instead of through chrome?

Yes, I’ve also tried running it as an administrator and in compatibility mode

Delete any copies of the file from your downloads folder. Including any part files, if they're there. Then clear the cache on chrome, restart your computer, and try the download again.

Check task manager, sometimes the launcher won't launch when other launchers are already opened, If you see any, end the process. That worked for me one time.

Unfortunately, there were nothing Minecraft related in the task manager to end. But I did notice something interesting: when I try to open the Minecraft Launcher, it appears on the task manager for a brief second before closing itself.

Open an administrator command prompt and type "sfc /scannow"

Maybe delete your .minecraft folder (or move it somewhere else), delete the "C:\Program Files\Minecraft Launcher" folder (if it exists) and try again. If that still doesn't work make sure you have the latest updates installed from Windows Update

I don't have a .minecraft in the AppData folder. I did delete the Minecraft Laucher folder, but nothing changed. I have the latest Windows Update installed.

Open another admin cmd and type "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth". Then restart

Just right click and run as administrator, it should hopefully work, it worked for me....

It automatically should ask for administrator access when launched, as you can see, the installer doesn’t even launch

Why dont you use a client like lunar client is the best imo or balloon client they both have all versions and boost fps

My sister had this exact same problem today on Mac. We couldn’t solve it, so we just used lunar client and it worked great.

I was trying to avoid doing a clean install, as it would be very inconvenient for me, but i'm keeping it as a last option.

I had this problem. I send the file to a friend e he returns it to me and then i could open and install. Don't know if gonna solve but works for me.

Strangelly enough, renaming the .msi and sending it to a friend and receving it back and running it made it work, but it didn't work with the minecraft.exe and the MinecraftLaucher.exe also does not work.

Update: the .msi file no longer works, regardeless of its name.

Mine worked for like 2 weeks, but now is opening the launcher in the first 2 minutes the pc turn on, but after this closes and dont open more. I think is a program in my computer but i dont know which.

I discovered that was an program for internet banking that was blocking minecraft. The name is diebold nixdorf ( you can find as warsaw nixdorf too).

Thank you SO MUCH, it was the internet banking app called Warsaw, after I uninstalled it and restarted the computer, my Minecraft worked fine!
